What we can state

The Academy biography presents the author in highly exalted terms. By comparison, UGLE’s digital guidance limits personal promotion and the use of Masonic channels for personal profit.

Limits of the conclusion

UGLE guidance is not a universal rule for all traditions, nor have we established that it binds Tojagić. Presence on TikTok, Instagram or YouTube alone proves neither irregularity nor manipulation.

A platform is not a sufficient criterion

UGLE has public digital channels and conduct guidance. The relevant question is how a person presents themselves: in their own name, for a particular body or as if representing all Freemasonry? Authority needs checking for each specific claim.

Personal authority and the image of a whole tradition

Our editorial position is that one person’s presentation cannot serve as the measure of all Freemasonry. Superlatives, titles and promises of special access can blur distinctions between an individual, their organisation and diverse Masonic traditions.

What to check in a recording

Listen to the complete question and answer. Record the verifiable claim and the speaker’s cited source. Check whether the statement invites reflection or demands acceptance on the strength of a title. Separate tone from facts: an unpleasant appearance does not prove falsehood, nor a pleasant one accuracy.

INDEPENDENT VERIFICATION

Questions worth asking

  • On whose behalf is the speaker talking?
  • Is a verifiable source cited, or the speaker’s own title?
  • What is promised to the audience, and is anything being sold?
  • Does the excerpt faithfully represent the whole appearance?
  • Is there a later explanation or correction?
